Winter Steelhead

As Fall gives way to winter the steelhead revert back to acting more like trout. Egg patterns and flesh flies are becoming less effective and nymphs, soft hackles and small streamers are becoming the name of the game. With low, cold and clear water steelhead become more selective on what they take. 

Season begins November 15th - April 15th. This time of year can be very cold, yield high snowfalls and windy conditions. True steelhead fishing at it's finest. During winter steelhead season we explore many different sections of the salmon river and other Lake Ontario Tributaries.
